You do not include information of your general health. Antibiotic medications can lead to the development of thrush by killing off good bacteria that keep yeast under control. If you have been on antibiotics for anything, that could be a factor. Steroids and birth control pills are other medications that can help cause thrush. If you are on any of those, then you may need to consider not taking them, but talk to your doctor first.

People who smoke, have diabetes, have HIV, have cancer, or who are pregnant are also at a higher risk. Also a lot of stress can be a factor.

How can thrush be prevented?

The following practices can help minimize your chance of developing thrush:

Follow good oral hygiene practices. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss at least once a day.

Avoid mouthwashes or sprays. These products can destroy the normal balance of microorganisms in your mouth.

See your dentist regularly. Especially if you have diabetes or wear dentures.

Limit the amount of sugar and yeast-containing foods you eat. Foods such as bread, beer, and wine encourage candida growth.

If you smoke, quit. Ask your doctor or dentist about ways to help you kick the habit.

<a href="http://www-extagencapsules.com">candida diet</a>

Usually this yeast is found with people who are immunocomprimised. I am reading a clinical dermatology book and here is what it says about mgmt: Azoles/imdiazoles are more effective then nystatin and result in relief of symptoms and negative cultures amoung 80 to 90% of patients after therapy is completed. I recommend that you bring this to the attention of your doctor, you may not be getting all the correct treatment. Or if you already are not, go to a dermatologist. And the book further states: Multiday regimens 3 to 7 day are preferred treatment for severe conditions.

<a href="http://www.yeastinfectionsremedy.com/yeast-infection-causes/yeast-infection-causes/">yeast infection causes</a>

Inhalation steroids, like advair can cause this. I don't know if you take this on a regular basis for asthma or not. If you do just rinse your mouth with water after each use to keep this from happening.

I'm really sorry you're going through this, hope you have it resolved soon. :)
